You have reached a very spacial place!

My name is Terry Prong. I am 74 years young. My wife's name is Jan Hicks. Her and I have been playing and singing together for about 25 years. Her voicals can be found on many of my songs. My father was a singer/guitar player. His favorite song to play was 'The September Song' (hard song to play let alone sing) He died in a small plane crash when i was only 11. He used to have an Ideal f-hole acoustic that I used to stand on the bed and play like a stand up base because it was big and I was small.

His musical spirit has always been with me.

I have been playing music and writting songs and stories for as long as I can remember. I decide to create a place where I can showcase all of my creations. The greatest joy I could have is to be able to influence young artists who are just beginning song and story writing. Many times I have been asked and many times when I was young I have asked "How did you get started?" Here is a story I would like to share about the answer to this question which started me on this journey.

I was born in Allentown PA. There was a place called Newhope that my mom used to take me when I was about 14. It was a little community of artists writers and musicians. Small coffee houses and lots of artists shops. I was wanting to become a writer at this point but did't really know how to start. I walked into one of the coffee houses and there at the corner table was a man (hippie type) sitting in front of a pile of pappers and notebooks. He was very intently writing. I thought surely "He must be a writer" I couldn't help to approach him and ask,

"Excuse me I don't mean to interupt you but, I am wanting to become a writer and I don't know where to start." He stopped writing and looked up at me with a smile. "So you want to be a writer?" I nodded yes feeling a little foolish at the question. He said "The secret to writing , is to write. Write, write, write! Let it stack up in the corners, fill every notebook you can even if you have to say your just writing to fill the page." This gets you in the flow of writing and is more important then what you are acctually writting." He smilled again and then went right back to his writing. I thanked him and continued my journey. This little tid bit of advice has stuck with me all my life. I began to fill up notebooks even if the only thing I wrote was,"I just need to fill the page over and over till the page was full." I use the same process to write song lyrics.Just put them down an paper and start another. Writing songs became easier then because I had so much fodder to draw from.

I have lost most of those writings but I truely believe somewhere someone has found some of them and has been influenced in their creative journey. Most of the songs I make vedeos for today where writtin and recorded 30+ years ago. I believe that a good song paints a picture in the listeners mind. With the advent of AI I can now make a visual representation of my stories and songs. I have tried to organize everything on this site like Music, Stories, Videos, Movies. There is a lot of content to wade thru so take your time and come back often. Things in the future incude ,Online live radio show, lots of podcasts, chat room, place where people can upload songs and stories. Not trying to be facebook but there will be no advertisments unless it's for someone's music or stories. So for now enjoy.
